Although Asheville Watchdog’s staff is small and most positions at present are staffed by volunteers, we hope to grow and add paid positions as revenue permits.

We have high standards, and welcome all who can meet them. A list of volunteer openings, with detailed job descriptions, can be found below.

The Watchdog enthusiastically endorses the policies of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Our goal is to create a diverse news organization that is representative, at all job levels, of the citizens and communities we serve. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all volunteers and employees, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, status as a parent, national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), political affiliation, military service, or other non-merit based factors.

At present, our workspace is remote (virtual) with staff meetings by Zoom.
